July 8th was a rainy day, one of those days when you can really tell the seasons are changing. During the afternoon rain showers we were treated to a great sighting of three Black Guan in the aguacatillo tree on the hillside along QERC.

These three black guans were having a feast despite the rain. Unfortunately the heavy rain prevented me from taking a great photo.

While Quetzals seem to be dignified while eating, the guans chow down on aguacatillos like they are in a New York hot dog eating contest.

Fortunately the Guans left some fruit behind, as the juvenile Quetzals have been very active in our area lately.
